Resource Planning Analyst
Salary: £39,894.46 - £53,192.62

The purpose of the role is to create, maintain and ensure efficiency within the NERL operational rosters, in order to provide an effective operational service to our airline customers and service our internal demands.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
This role will need to undertake planned rostering tasks and be able to react to short notice changes in demand and supply within rosters in support of business requirements. Key accountabilities include:
- Creating and maintaining optimised rosters for the NERL Operation which are compliant with CAA requirements and Working Practices/Company Scheduling Agreements
- Ensuring business priorities are understood and that rosters are created that meet those priorities, seeking clarity and providing challenge where required
- Providing rostering and task support to the Service Delivery teams to ensure an efficient and effective roster is in place at D-1
- Work collaboratively with the customers to identify any instances of non-compliance and providing solutions for resolution
- Ensuring efficiency in our use of operational staff to avoid unnecessary spend
- Fulfilling detachment requests in an efficient and appropriately prioritised manner by liaising with the requestors to fully understand the requirement. Provide the appropriate level of challenge and timely escalation if conflicts in resource occur
- Supporting OCT maintenance where required
- Ensuring the Quintiq rostering tool is the single point of truth for all planned activities and providing technical support to the operational teams to ensure consistency of use
- Maintaining an up to date understanding all relevant rostering rules and their impact on the individual and business, at both national and local level and highlighting where potential improvements could be made.
- Providing solutions to resourcing queries from operational staff, escalating where appropriate
- Act as a rostering SME to support any improvement activities that require such skill, whether internal to the Planning & Resource function or externally
- Maintain a minimum of 2 rostering competencies
- Support competency training within the Rostering & Deployment function
- Supporting the completion of general tasks as required within the function.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES
- Applicants should ideally be educated in a numerate discipline or have relevant professional experience and be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills:
- Experience of rostering, resourcing and working practices and how these fits with the achievement of wider business objectives
- The ability to take day to day responsibility for the execution and reporting of assigned tasks within varied rostering related projects
- A knowledge and appreciation of current and likely future ATC operations including support roles
- Experienced in the use of a rostering or resourcing tool
- The ability to produce well documented, high quality, technical work with clear and concise reports for both specialist and general reading
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Windows/Office environment with reference to Excel, Power point and Word with an appetite to develop knowledge to meet requirements.
